“exaBase Company Search”, the search engine specialized in corporate information, now supports Generative AI ―Extracts important information from securities reports and displays the management strategy of the target company in compact form―
ExaWizards (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Makoto Haruta; hereinafter “exaWizards”) announces that it will include an information analysis feature utilizing generative AI in “exaBase Company Search,” a search engine specializing in corporate information. Using “ChatGPT,” the generative AI service provided by OpenAI, based in the U.S., important, accurate and up-to-date information is extracted from securities reports and converted into text. The new feature supports appropriate and quick decision-making by concisely displaying the management strategy of the target listed company.
This new feature will be made available as a standard service within exaBase Company Search by the end of June. No additional fee is required. In conjunction with this launch, a two-month free trial of exaBase Company Search will be offered to companies.
☑︎ChatGPT Support Features
ExaWizards provides services and products to improve the productivity of Japanese companies as a whole through the use of AI, and aim to solve social issues through these services and products.
exaBase Company Search retrieves information on the approximately 4 million companies and organizations registered in Japan, and even includes information on startups and other unlisted companies. By processing big data with exaWizards’ proprietary AI, we have achieved the following three features: (1) specialized search for corporate information, (2) a free keyword search not bound by general classifications, and (3) a list display that can be narrowed and reordered.
The new functionality employing ChatGPT covers securities reports for the approximately 3,900 listed companies in Japan. With this feature, ChatGPT is used to extract up to five of the most important keywords for each of the three categories of information in the latest reports: (1) “Analysis of Financial Condition and Status,” (2) “Business and Other Risks,” and (3) “Important Management Contracts,” and to display a list of the most important information extracted from the report. This information is made available from the search results of the target company.
When inquiries are made directly through ChatGPT, users may run into issues with the information being inaccurate or out-of-date, but this new feature addresses those concerns. Users can catch the main points within the annual securities reports at a glance without the need to retrieve and read through the individual PDF report files of the target companies.
ChatGPT is accessed from our system through OpenAI’s API.
For example, in the case of our exaWizards’ annual securities report, the “Business and Other Risks” section contains approximately 4,000 characters of information. By processing this information using ChatGPT, the information has been condensed into 10 concise points of 20-50 characters along with 5 keywords.

exaBase Company Search can find companies that are difficult to discover using traditional approaches. Using our unique AI technology, we classify the information contained in each company’s website and other information as a feature set. It determines if the information is a match based on spatial proximity to search keywords. Searches can be performed even outside of general classifications such as industry. Specifically, you can search using any keyword, such as “generative AI” or “advanced semiconductors,” and find a wide range of companies that are related to those keywords or are working on initiatives that are similar to them. It is also possible to search by categories such as “a list of companies similar to Company A” or “a list of companies in Region Y.”
When searching companies on the Web, it comes mixed with information from e-commerce sites and other various sources, which do not always contain relevant information. exaBase Company Search avoids this noise and results can be downloaded in the Excel format as a well-organized list.
