ExaWizards’ Basic Policy on Artificial Intelligence

ExaWizards’ mission is to solve social issues through Artificial Intelligence for future generations. We are dedicated to developing and operating AI systems to address social changes by providing services and support for corporate transformation with AI. We believe that the use of AI is the key to addressing challenges, regardless of their scale, which are present in people’s lives and in society. Furthermore, we recognize that AI, if not used properly, has the potential to instigate anxiety and confusion within the community.

We are committed to developing and operating AI systems along the fundamental values essential to creating a sustainable society where all people can have hope; respecting human dignity and universally recognized human rights. This aligns with the concept of human-centric AI, which is promoted both in Japan and globally.
As society consists of diverse individuals, social issues and forms of happiness should be equally diverse. In such a society, we establish our basic policy on developing and operating AI systems as follows.

  1. Solving Social Issues and Attaining Happiness
We will use AI to solve social issues, create a better future, and empower diverse individuals to attain happiness. We will contribute to the use of AI in ways that promote the global environment conservation and foster international peace. In addition, while fully considering the risk AI entails—such as potentially giving rise to new types of discrimination or infringing on fundamental human rights like the safety of life—we will minimize such risks as much as possible and, should any problems emerge, we will respond to them promptly and sincerely.
  2. Pursuing Equity and Fairness
We will emphasize diversity when developing and operating AI systems. We will strive to ensure equity to prevent any specific attributes or individuals from being treated unfairly. Furthermore, we will pursue the fairness of AI by evaluating data, algorithms, and outputs to ensure that AI neither learns nor generates inappropriate biases from the results of AI applications.
  3. Ensuring Transparency
We will highly value our communication with users to alleviate any anxiety or concerns that AI may cause. In addition, we will ensure transparency regarding the rationale for AI’s decisions and recommendations.
  4. Protecting Privacy and Establishing Security
We will endeavor to provide a high level of protection for the privacy of data processed by AI. In accordance with our Privacy Policy, we will diligently safeguard privacy during developing and operating AI systems. In addition, we will exercise proper control in accordance with our Security Policy to prevent unauthorized access to, and data breaches of, personal information handled by AI systems and data provided by customers.
  5. Ensuring Safety
We will strive to develop and operate robust and reliable AI systems, securing their technical safety. We also pursue normative safety to confirm that AI systems do not endanger the life, liberty, or dignity of individuals. Our policy strictly prohibits the use of AI systems for non-peaceful purposes. We are committed to ensure that AI is safe for all to use.
  6. Contributing to Development of AI and AI Talent
We will persistently and sincerely pursue our research and business operations for the advancement and growth of AI, to contribute to a better society where AI is utilized appropriately. Furthermore, we will support the cultivation of professionals who comprehend and adeptly employ AI within various environments, to accelerate the resolution of social issues through AI.

We will maintain an internal organizational structure to ensure that AI systems are developed and operated with integrity in accordance with our Basic Policy on Artificial Intelligence listed above. We will review this Policy set forth above as necessary to respond to shifts in the social environment and the advancement of technologies.
