Sapporo Holdings Adopts “exaBase Generative AI”
– 700 Planning and Administrative Staff will Use on a Trial Basis, and Expect to Save 10,000 Hours per Year by Using The Original Prompts –
Exa Enterprise AI Inc.(Minato-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Takuma Oue, hereinafter “Exa Enterprise AI”), a group company of ExaWizards Inc., has announced that Sapporo Holdings Limited adopts “exaBase Generative AI powered by GPT-4”. The service will be available from February 1, 2024 to 700 employees in a pilot program, primarily in the planning and administrative departments of Sapporo Group companies. The service is expected to save 10,000 man-hours per year by using proprietary prompts developed jointly with Exa Enterprise AI.

☑︎Background of the generative AI service pilot program
The Sapporo Group has positioned “DX” as a priority in its Mid-Term Business Plan (2023-26) to support their business and financial strategies and sustainability. Their goal is to continue growing with all stakeholders and maximize the value of customers and the company, and the Group is conducting business transformation initiatives through the use of digital technology.
Exa Enterprise AI’s “exaBase Generative AI powered by GPT-4” (hereafter, exaBase Generative AI) is being adopted to improve the quality and productivity of daily labor-intensive operations. exaBase Generative AI is a SaaS-style service that uses the GPT model provided by Microsoft in Japan. Sapporo Holdings decided to introduce exaBase Generative AI after observing that prompt data entries are not used for training and that the service has an administrative dashboard that allows users to check entry logs and other information.
☑Content and man-hour reductions
Sapporo Holdings will establish use of the system by providing prompts to serve as inputs to the generative AI and by training personnel with experience in using the system.
These prompts were developed by Sapporo Holdings in collaboration with Exa Enterprise AI. They are tailored to the systems and operations of the Sapporo Holdings Group. On-site utilization, such as by creating and proofreading approval documents, is expected to save 10,000 man-hours per year.
After verifying the trial implementation, Sapporo Holdings will consider expanding the service to other departments and operations. The company’s goal is to create more benefits, such as improving the business process and enhancing creativity.

Since its launch as a paid service in June 2023, the exaBase AI powered by GPT-4, has been adopted by many corporations, organizations, and administrative bodies, with about 40,000 users as of January 2024. The service takes into account the security and compliance issues that corporations face, enabling administrators to track usage and register prohibited words. By leveraging Microsoft’s “Azure OpenAI Service East Japan Region”, all data is processed within Japan. Customers can also upload their own files for use, with the content of those files enabling interaction and generation.
