ExaWizards Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President: Makoto Haruta, hereinafter ExaWizards) and Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Kojiro Higuchi, hereinafter Tohoku Electric Power) have announced a strategic collaboration to solve social issues through AI-based services. By leveraging Tohoku Electric Power ‘s business assets (data, customer base, etc.) and ExaWizards’ expertise in service planning and digital transformation (DX) human resource development, the two companies aim to rapidly develop new businesses and address social challenges.

Background of the Collaboration
ExaWizards’ mission is to create a happier society by solving social issues through AI. ExaWizards provides services through its “exaBase” AI platform, which compiles AI algorithms and use cases. The company is committed to addressing challenges such as caregiving, workforce shortages due to declining birthrates and aging populations, and improving productivity in traditional industrial systems. Their strengths lie in their AI consultants, domain experts, and engineers, who bring extensive experience in new business development and the energy sector.
Additionally, ExaWizards has supported Tohoku Electric Power in promoting DX by applying the corporate ChatGPT service ‘exaBase Generative AI’ and the development environment ‘exaBase Studio,’ which allows for the flexible creation of AI and DX software. This support included validation, user training, and ideathons aimed at utilizing these tools.

Scope of the Collaboration
ExaWizards and Tohoku Electric Power will combine Tohoku Electric Power’s extensive data, customer base, and other business assets with ExaWizards’ technological and business development capabilities, human resource development knowledge, and expertise in the digital and AI domains. This collaboration will create new businesses that address human resource shortages faced by companies and organizations in the Tohoku and Niigata prefectures.

Tohoku Electric Power also plans to utilize ExaWizards’ DX human resource development knowledge and AI-related services to create new business value in the energy sector.
