(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kei Umeda; hereafter, “Mizuho Trust & Banking”) are pleased to announce the commencement of their business alliance centered on sales collaboration and other initiatives utilizing the IR operations efficiency support service ‘exaBase IR Assistant powered by ChatGPT’ (hereafter, ‘exaBase IR Assistant’).

Through this business alliance, both companies will utilize their resources to support listed companies in carrying out their IR operations more efficiently, thereby facilitating the creation of an environment where active dialogues with various stakeholders in the capital market can be possible.

In Japan’s equity capital market, the importance of appropriate information disclosure and dialogue with the capital market is increasingly heightened.
Through this business alliance between our company and Mizuho Trust & Banking, we will primarily undertake the following initiatives in the field of communication with institutional and individual investors, such as Investor Relations (IR) and Shareholder Relations (SR), by mutually leveraging our respective customer bases, products, sales strategies, domain knowledge about customer support, and technical and business development capabilities in the digital and AI fields.

☑︎Background of the Business Alliance
Our company has been strengthening product development to improve the productivity of desk workers using various AI technologies and DX promotion achievements, aiming to solve the societal issue of improving the productivity of all Japanese companies. In this context, on May 10, 2023, we announced the IR business efficiency support service “exaBase IR Assistant” using ChatGPT.

exaBase IR Assistant is a service that uses the API of “ChatGPT”, a generative and conversational AI provided by OpenAI in the United States, using various IR documents as data sources. The AI automatically generates possible questions and corresponding responses, including company-specific information, at financial results briefings, general meetings of shareholders, various explanatory meetings, and press conferences. We are proceeding with development in parallel with trial use with many companies, and we plan to start providing the commercial version from September.

Mizuho Trust & Banking has been supporting dialogue between client companies and their shareholders as a transfer agent, focusing on IR/SR support services to institutional investors and individual shareholders and shareholder registry management services.
