ExaWizards and Persol Technology Staff Jointly Launch Human Resource Development Project to Develop DX/AI Workforce
– Aiming to resolve manpower shortages by reskilling IT engineers wishing to become DX/AI specialists –

 ExaWizards Inc., a company that develops AI (artificial intelligence)-enabled services to solve social issues (hereafter, “ExaWizards”; headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President: Ko Ishiyama) and Persol Technology Staff Co., Ltd., a staffing service provider specializing in IT and engineering under the umbrella of the PERSOL Group, a giant in the human resource services industry (hereafter, “Persol Technology Staff”; headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Shinji Masaki), have jointly launched a human resource development project to develop talents with expertise in the implementation and operation of AI-based systems from January 2022 onward. ExaWizards’ recruitment/training support service focusing on tech talents with digital transformation (DX) skills “exaBase DX Assessment & Learning” provides Persol Technology Staff with a chance to reskill its engineers and help them become DX/AI specialists.

1. Only 36 percent of all companies can conduct internal DX training,*1 while the DX/AI talent shortage is expected to reach 124,000 people by 2030.*2
2. Approximately 30 percent of all tech workers specializing in development engineering are interested in the career development that would enable them to handle DX-related projects.
 In recent years, Japan’s business environment has changed due to the decrease in the labor population as well as globalization-driven intensified competition, making DX promotion a high-profile issue that can be a key to ensure profit and competitiveness. However, only 36 percent of all companies in Japan can conduct internal DX training, and the workforce shortage in the field of AI, the core technology of DX, is projected to reach 124,000 people by 2030.
 Under such circumstances, a growing number of engineers hope to acquire DX-related skills, and a survey targeting Persol Technology Staff’s engineers conducted in November 2021 indicated that approximately 30 percent of the company’s web development engineers were interested in the career development that would enable them to handle DX-related projects. Taking these things into consideration, ExaWizards believes that it can contribute to solving the DX/AI talent shortage problem by providing DX training opportunities.

☑︎Summary: Use the assessment tool to choose, hire, and train talents. Support engineers exploring career transition opportunities to become DX/AI specialists.
 ExaWizards and Persol Technology Staff are together developing an DX/AI workforce, targeting Persol Technology Staff’s engineers. With ExaWizards’ DX talent recruitment/training support service “exaBase DX Assessment & Learning,” Persol Technology Staff visualizes the level of AI engineering skills and knowledge of each engineer to hire new tech workers, or select appropriate ones from among those already with the company. Persol Technology Staff’s engineers can learn skill of DX and AI, including general DX literacy, image recognition, and natural language processing, through the training of specialist course. After completing the training program, they are dispatched from Persol Technology Staff to work as engineers responsible for the implementation or operation of AI-based systems. The training program is designed to support engineers in accumulating work experience.
