Aiding our clients’ digital transformation by accurately pinpointing human resources with the digital know-how and ability to play an active role in the field

ExaWizards Inc., a company that develops artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled services to solve social issues (hereafter, “ExaWizards“; headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President: Ko Ishiyama) plans to release “DIA (Digital Innovator Assessment) for New Grads” (hereafter, “DIA for New Grads”) – an assessment service for new graduates due for release on February 24 that aims to find the next generation of digital innovators – as a new entry in its lineup of “exaBase DX Assessment & Learning” services for uncovering and developing human resources specializing in DX.

☑︎ What is “DIA for New Grads”?
“DIA for New Grads” is a digital innovator skills and abilities visualization service which optimally tailors “exaBase DX Assessment & Learning DIA (hereafter, “DIA”)” to new graduates. This service aids clients’ digital transformation by accurately pinpointing human resources with the digital know-how and ability to play an active role in the field.
By using this service, clients will be able to quantitatively identify human resources required to facilitate the company’s digital transformation by pinpointing DX/digital specialists that fail to be recognized using conventional new graduate hiring evaluations. In addition, a wide range of development training courses tailored to the graduate’s skill set are available after the graduate enters the company. In this way, “DIA for New Grads” offers a one-stop solution that adequately provides for the developmental training of human resources specializing in DX/digital technologies after the assessment process is complete.

☑︎ Background to Development
Nowadays we see an increasing number of companies that require all employees to become digitally proficient in order to both improve productivity and create innovation. Despite this, the shortage of IT/digital specialists continues at pace, and it is expected this shortage will reach 450,000 by 2030*1, making it increasingly difficult to acquire the required number of digital specialists from mid-career hires.
However, the results of the 2020 Survey on Employment Trends released by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare stated that of the 2.686 million people in regular employment who changed jobs, 918,000 were new graduates, some 34% of the total, a significant proportion. *2
When hiring new graduates, Japan continues to employ a unique simultaneous recruiting scheme for new graduates, which gives a clearer idea of the employee screening and development period compared to other countries. However, despite emphasizing digital literacy on the surface, many companies still rely on external criteria, such as the graduating student’s university and faculty, while also employing screening processes using conventional entry sheets and aptitude tests.
Amidst this background, “DIA for New Grads” was developed to solve challenges posed concerning the aforementioned shortage of IT/digital specialists, and identifying people suited to this role by providing a one-stop support solution for quantitatively assessing candidates as future digital innovators, and ensuring they get the development support they need once they enter the company.

☑︎ Features of “DIA for New Grads”
(1) Visualization of the skills and abilities of future digital innovators needed to further promote digital transformation in companies
In addition to the core competencies and personality traits, attitudes, values, and motivation covered by traditional aptitude testing, “DIA for New Grads” provides a visual account of the digital and innovative skills and abilities required of new graduates to achieve DX in four categories – skills and know-how in digital technologies, and skills and know-how in innovation. This allows for a quantitative evaluation of candidates as digital innovators – an area previously extremely difficult to identify through aptitude testing and simply checking one’s alma mater and the faculty they studied – and can also be used as screening criteria.

(2) Optimization of DIA know-how to suit new graduate candidates, and providing accurate measurements of a candidate abilities
The know-how developed through the use of “DIA” by some 360 companies evaluating over 17,000 test subjects (as of January 2022) has been condensed and optimized for new graduate candidates to achieve a statistics/AI-driven question setting and evaluation system with a high scoring accuracy.

(3) Score comparisons with advanced DX companies, companies in the same field or industry, by industry, with existing employees, and various other areas available
The results provided with this service can be used for score comparisons across a series of different axes, such as with advanced DX companies, companies in the same field or industry, by industry, in addition to comparisons with existing employees to provide the criteria for identifying the candidates needed for your business. In addition, DX literacy courses, DX specialist courses, and a range of other developmental training courses tailored to the test subject’s skill set, similar to those available to existing employees, are also provided. In this way, “DIA for New Grads” offers a one-stop support service that follows a new hire’s steady development after their assessment and entry into the company.
