ExaWizards Announces its New Leadership Structure

ExaWizards Inc. announced today that its Board of Directors had provisionally approved the following changes in its leadership structure at the meeting held on March 22, 2023. As of April 1, 2023, Makoto Haruta, the current Director & Chairman, will become Representative Director & President, and Kou Ishiyama, the current Representative Director & President, will become Director.

Ko Ishiyama, the current Representative Director and President, has been a driving force behind the Company’s growth since the establishment of ExaWizards.  Recently, Ko Ishiyama has proposed to the Board of Directors that, due to a reason that sufficient time is needed to appropriately respond to changes in his family’s health condition, a change of Representative Director in order to ensure that the management team to make flexible managerial decisions under such circumstances.  In response to this proposal, the Board of Directors of the Company discussed this matter at its meeting held on March 22, 2023, and elected Makoto Haruta, the current Director & Chairman of the Board, as the new representative director.

Ko Ishiyama, based on his authority as representative director and his extensive knowledge of technology, has been primarily responsible for strategic planning and practical implementation of sales and development activities.  Makoto Haruta has been in charge of the overall business activities from a company-wide perspective based on his vast management experience at DeNA Co., Ltd. during its founding period and as a listed company.  Ko Ishiyama will continue to serve as a director and will be responsible for the evolution and expansion of the company’s projects, particularly those centered on exaBase Studio. Meanwhile, as Representative Director and President, Makoto Haruta, in addition to his existing responsibilities, will be actively involved in sales and development strategies, as well as in the promotion of business practices, and will play a central role in the promotion of the Company’s broad business strategies and prompt management decisions in business administration, and will carry out his important responsibilities to enhance enterprise value.

In addition to the management structure described above, the Company has been promoting the delegation of authority for business execution to each functional department by introducing an executive officer system even before the Company becomes a public entity.  In particular, we have established a Technology Officer system specializing in technical expertise, and we have a large number of excellent engineering leaders.  As a result, each business execution division is able to divide responsibility for future business operations, and a system is in place to promote business operations quickly and smoothly.

Under the new leadership structure, the Company will adapt to various internal and external changes in the business environment and continue to grow its business with the aim of achieving sustainable growth and increasing the enterprise value of the Company group and exaBase assets over the mid-to-long term.
