JR East begins trial implementation of “exaBase IR Assistant”
– Trial Use of Generative AI Technology to Transform Business Operations, Including Documentation –
Exa Enterprise AI (Minato-ku, Tokyo, representative director: Takuma Oue, hereinafter “Exa Enterprise AI”), a group company of the ExaWizards Corporation, has announced that the East Japan Railway Company (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President: Yuji Fukasawa, hereinafter “JR East”) has begun trial implementation of our “exaBase IR Assistant powered by ChatGPT API” (hereafter referred to as “exaBase IR Assistant”).
JR East defines “JR East’s DX” as “accelerating business innovation by providing new value to customers through digital technology, starting with the needs of customers, society, and employees, to enhance corporate value.” They will use exaBase IR Assistant to transform operations to improve service quality and business efficiency.

JR East is “promoting strategies to serve as a foundation for growth” to achieve their management vision “Transformation 2027,” which is an ongoing process that uses data and AI to support their business transformation (DX) with digital technology.
In October 2023, JR East established the Digital & Data Innovation Center (commonly known as “Dice”) to utilize data and generative AI across the company and to implement agile development for systems and applications. In December 2023, they announced the development of diverse digital human resources to promote DX.
JR East decided to trial “exaBase IR Assistant” to collaborate with the generative AI to “achieve business transformation” and create new approaches and productivity improvements.

Since the release of the beta version of exaBase IR Assistant in May 2023 and the product version in October of the same year, the service has received inquiries from several hundred listed companies and has attracted much attention. At present, the service is being introduced at companies in the TSE Prime, Standard, and Growth markets in a diverse range of industries and sectors. A wide range of departments, including IR, general affairs, legal, corporate planning, and accounting, which are in charge of shareholder meetings, have begun to utilize the service, mainly in response to financial results and at shareholder meetings.
