Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Utilizes ‘exaBase Generative AI’ to Achieve Sixfold Reduction in Work Time Through Promotion Support – Doubling the Number of Users in Six Months, Aiming for Further Utilization Rate Improvement Towards Company-Wide Adoption –

Exa Enterprise AI Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takuma Oue; hereinafter “Exa Enterprise AI”), a group company of ExaWizards Inc., provided support including the implementation of our corporate ChatGPT service “exaBase Generative AI” to Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Koichi Myochin; hereinafter referred to as Kawasaki Kisen). As a result, the number of users doubled in six months, increasing to more than half of all employees. Additionally, the time saved due to reduced workload increased sixfold from 420 hours to 2,770 hours per month, contributing to the efficiency equivalent to approximately 15 people’s work. We will continue to support the promotion of generative AI utilization and its company-wide adoption at Kawasaki Kisen.
Exa Enterprise AI aims to unlock human potential and create a society where new challenges can be addressed by providing generative AI services and products to enhance the productivity of Japanese companies and organizations.

Background
Kawasaki Kisen is a major comprehensive logistics company primarily involved in maritime transportation. As part of its DX (Digital Transformation) strategy, the company aims to further digitize information, business processes, and vessels to enhance its core values of safety, environment, and quality through the use of data and digital technologies, thereby increasing added value as a source of competitiveness. Although Kawasaki Kisen had been advancing the use of GPT-3.5, there were challenges in employee engagement due to the rapid evolution of LLMs (Large Language Models) and usability issues.
In June 2024, recognizing the high security and user-friendly interface of exaBase Generative AI, Kawasaki Kisen formally adopted the service. To promote employee engagement, Exa Enterprise AI provided the “Operational Integration Practice Program.” Since its founding in 2016, the ExaWizards Group has supported AI development and implementation for over 2,000 companies, leveraging its extensive experience and know-how. This program aimed not only to impart knowledge but also to integrate generative AI into routine operations, offering practical learning through the actual use of exaBase Generative AI in various business scenarios. As a result, we were able to double the number of users and increase the time saved from reduced workloads sixfold within six months.
