World’s leading AI expert Alon Halevy joins AI venture ExaWizards as Executive Supporter
ExaWizards Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President: Ko Ishiyama; hereinafter, ExaWizards) is pleased to announce that the world’s leading AI expert Alon Halevy has joined the company as an Executive Supporter.
1. Background of Alon Halevy
Alon Halevy received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University in 1993 and worked as a professor of Computer Science at the University of Washington. He founded the Database Research Group at the university. As an entrepreneur, he established two companies, Nimble Technology Inc. and Transformic Inc. In 2005, after Google acquired Transformic Inc., he became a Senior Staff Research Scientist responsible for research in data management at the Google headquarters. He is also a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He won the VLDB 10-year Best Paper Award in 2006. From 2015 to 2018, he served as the head of the Recruit Institute of Technology (Megagon Labs), and in August 2019, he joined Facebook AI.
