ExaWizards Inc. (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director & President: Ko Ishiyama, hereafter “ExaWizards”) and MedPeer, Inc. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Yo Iwami, hereafter “MedPeer”) have concluded a business alliance for the development of AI solutions using MedPeer’s collective intelligence data.
ExaWizards has been implementing AI platforms, AI education services, and other appropriate services aiming to solve social issues such as the super-aging society. It has also been working to disseminate the dementia care technique, “Humanitudeâ”, develop “Coaching AI” to learn this technique and other services to support HR development in the care industry. In November 2017 it released the AI-enabled HR tech service, “HR-kun”, covering from recruitment, capacity development, and evaluation, up to placement in a company. ExaWizards has been planning and developing such AI solutions using its ideas and technological capacity in various industries.
MedPeer operates a doctors-only community site with 100,000 doctor members, “MedPeer”, which amasses the clinical experience and knowledge posted by doctors as a “collective intelligence”. It has already accumulated over 530,000 reviews by doctors on medical products. In addition, an online healthcare consultation with a doctor called “first call” accumulates as text data the details of chat consultations with general consumers and the answers from doctors, and some 40,000 consultations including for monitoring have been gathered.
Through this business alliance, we will plan and develop various AI solutions for pharmaceutical companies and other companies as well as general consumers by analyzing MedPeer’s text data (collective intelligence) obtained from doctors and general consumers with ExaWizards’ AI technologies. As a first step, we have launched the following services by combining “HR-kun” developed by ExaWizards and “MedPeer” and “first call” operated by MedPeer.
Overview of the services under this business alliance
（１）“HR-kun for MR”, an MR education support service by HR-kun × MedPeer
With the spread of generic drugs, the shift of new drug development from primary areas to specialty areas, and the introduction of community-based integrated care systems, etc., the role of MRs and the ideal way of providing information must change.
Accordingly, we offer “HR-kun for MR” using the collective intelligence obtained from “MedPeer” member doctors for pharmaceutical companies to provide AI-based support for MR education. Specifically, it will be possible to set new MR evaluation indicators and predict successful human resources by using AI to analyze various HR data in pharmaceutical companies. Also, AI learns the know-how of expert MRs in companies and analyzes the reviews on medical products posted by doctors through “MedPeer”, and then provides instructions on what information should be provided to doctors and through what communication method as the most effective way.
（２）upport for the mental health and physical health of employees by HR-kun × first call
With the increasing number of mental health problems among employees as exemplified by the steady increase in the number of industrial accident claims related to mental disorders (from White Paper on Prevention of Karoshi (Death caused by Overwork), 2017, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare), the importance of promoting employees’ health and preventive measures in companies has grown.
In line with this, the healthcare consultations with employees through “first call” are analyzed by HR-kun for AI-based analyses combining labor administration data such as medical examinations, stress checks, attendance and other appropriate data, and then AI automatically assesses the mental health and health condition of employees and urges countermeasures as needed to prevent symptoms from worsening. In the future, the speed and quality of answers from doctors will be improved by making AI learn the data of accumulated consultations and answers and then enabling AI to automatically present doctors with a typical answer according to the consultation contents.
HR-kun (https://exawizards.com/technology/hrtech.html) is an HR Tech service using the following three AI-enabled functions to support a series of HR operations from recruitment, capacity development and evaluation, up to placement in a company.
1. AI-based prediction of successful human resources in advance
A function to cover all scenarios from performance prediction after recruitment, transfer and appointment as well as prediction of optimal placement, up to resignation prediction, by utilizing various data linked with employee IDs.
2. Support for capacity development using AI Coaching
AI learns the know-how including tacit knowledge of high-performers and experts from videos. With this function, by sending a video of the person to be trained, AI automatically provides feedback with corrections in red.
3. AI-based prediction of mental health conditions
This function predicts mental health conditions with higher accuracy by simultaneously analyzing HR related data and healthcare related data. This can be utilized in preventive measures, recurrence prevention, support for returning to work, etc.
