Shizuoka Prefecture Introduces “exaBase Generative AI for Municipalities” to All Headquarters Employees -Utilizing In-House Data with RAG to Reduce Time Spent on Inquiries and Data Analysis, Enhancing Employee Productivity-
ExaWizards Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Makoto Haruta; hereinafter “ExaWizards”) and its group company, Exa Enterprise AI Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takuma Oue; hereinafter “Exa Enterprise AI”), are pleased to announce that Shizuoka Prefecture (Aoi-ku, Shizuoka City; Governor: Yasutomo Suzuki) introduced “exaBase Generative AI for Municipalities” at its headquarters in December 2024. Shizuoka Prefecture will utilize the Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG*) feature of generative AI to enhance the productivity of administrative tasks such as responding to inquiries, creating documents, and analyzing data.
*RAG functions allow generative AI to process and analyze unique data to provide accurate responses to inquiries.
☑︎ Verification by Shizuoka Prefecture
Many RAG cases were confirmed during the verification phase (commenced July 2024) prior to full implementation. These include the creation of FAQs and inquiry response manuals, checking for typos and guideline compliance, and analyzing data relationships. This demonstrated significant reductions in the time required for searching, summarizing, and drafting documents related to laws, regulations, guidelines, manuals, and materials. RAG is expected to improve the efficiency of all headquarters employees.
Examples of RAG Utilization in Leading Departments:
・Summarized the key points of large-scale disaster assessments, categorized over 100 video groups
・Responded to document-related inquiries, consulted on accounting tasks
・Document Creation: Created FAQs, drafted posts for X (formerly Twitter)
・Proofread for typos in summaries, verified compliance with social media guidelines
・Evaluated and reviewed budget request documents
・Analyzed the relationship between “subjective data” and “objective data” in well-being indicators
