1.[Fostering a Culture] DX Bootcamp to Secure Management’s Commitment
Kansai TD will play a greater role in strengthening resilience and meeting grid usage requirements, balancing them with urgent challenges such as the aging of existing facilities and a declining workforce.
Business transformation using data and AI will be essential to evolving into an “Energy Platformer” that provides new value to customers and society. A major turning point in these efforts was the President’s decision to hold a DX Bootcamp. Kansai TD’s Chief Digital Officer Matsuura drove the project by holding a DX bootcamp for all management and department heads, with ExaWizards supporting the planning and implementation. The participants’ mindsets shifted from “should do” to “must do,” laying the foundation for a top-down culture of transformation.
2.[Talent Development] DX Assessment for All Executives and Employees
To make all of its 8,169 employees (as of March 31, 2025) drivers of DX, Kansai TD defined three types of talent: “Utilization Talent,” “Promotion Talent,” and “Advanced Specialist Talent.” In April 2024, ExaWizards provided their “exaBase DX Assessment & Learning”* DX talent discovery and development service to visualize the skills of all employees. This fosters a system where on-site professionals use digital tools and solve problems from the bottom up.
*A first for a transmission and distribution company in Japan (according to ExaWizards’ research).
3.[Environment Building] exaBase Studio to Implement Field-Led Transformation
exaBase Studio, an environment for developed talent to create value, was launched in November 2025. A “Small Success Project” that utilizes the AI agent development and operation environment, this project brings together four departments: Planning, Engineering, System Operations, and Distribution. By creating an environment where talent who are familiar with actual operations can develop and utilize AI agents, we can automate and improve efficiency in tasks affected by labor shortages. This will create a system where employees can spend more time on creative work.

These initiatives will allow Kansai TD to achieve its group vision by “transforming all transmission and distribution operations into safe, accurate, and swift processes, where people can pursue value that only humans can provide.” ExaWizards will continue to support business transformation and optimization using the company’s massive grid and customer data through the use of generative AI, supporting Kansai T&D’s goal of becoming an “Energy Platformer.”
